The RGYC Sailing Development Program, Whats it about ?

The RGYC Sailing Development Program will provide the Geelong community and RGYC Members the opportunity to develop the sport of sailing to a world class level.

It will bring the club in-line with other world-leading clubs in Austral such as the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia and the Royal Perth Yacht Club, by providing a fleet of a fleet of six one-design, 7-metre yachts.

One-design boats are identical in construction, setup and performance, placing the emphasis on teamwork and sailing skill.

This program facilitates the opportunity to run a variety of courses and offerings:

– Learn to sail courses for all ages, male and female

– Youth development and high-performance programs

– Member programs and mini-regattas

– Corporate sailing experiences

– Australian and international one-design competitions

– Community outreach programs

– school sailing programs
